Global inequality is a result of this stratification. Worldwide, there is an unequal distribution of resources among countries, creating not just global inequality but a hierarchy of countries. WebbTheories of citizenship fall into two types: normative theories that attempt to set out the rights and duties a citizen ideally ought to have, and empirical theories that seek to describe and explain how citizens came to possess those rights and duties that they actually have. In different but related ways, both types of theory appeal to history.
