Web19 de out. de 2009 · 1,649 Posts. #6 · Oct 17, 2009. yes, and also, 1500 degrees is very common on the 6.7 you wont be harming anything unless you are sitting at 1500+ for a long time, but even then, your regen process keeps it that hot for along time. I have hit 2000 degrees with my PMT on xtreme 1017H at WOT for 30 seconds or so.

My guess the increased egts is normal with the bigger turbo when boost is low. It take more power to spool it up. Should be lower EGTs when the boost is up high. I put on a Powermax a few months ago and noticed my egts cruising around went up 100-125 degrees over stock turbo.

Web12 de mar. de 2004 · EGTs could be high because of a lean condition and they could start to decrease because of an extreme lean condition or they could be high from an extemely rich condtion. It seems EGTs should not be used as guide for A/F ratios at all, but only as a warning before something melts.

High egts make me think of the ignition system. Patterns of high egts of 1,3,5 or 2,4,6 push me even more in that direction. Your engine probably has the left mag firing the lower 1,3,5 and the upper 2,4,6 plugs.
