I find the Sennheiser 600/650/6xx/580 series is very picky about airflow through the earpads (and the stock pads are quite breathable). On the other hand, bass heads will certainly hate the lack of low end in the 600. As far as added harmonics on tube amps, HD600 also scales by a lot. 4 Likes. WebOct 11, 2024 · The 6XX is indeed the same as the 650, NOT the 660S. Further, the 58X is a variation on the 660S technology, but bears almost no resemblance to the actual Senn HD580. As for the best headphone amongst all of those, the 6XX/650 is the most refined (best). That said, the 300 impedance implies the need for a decent amplifier.
WebI bought my HD650 in 2009 from headphone.com and its still going strong, I have zero issues with the drivers, of course the pads had to be replaced, and most recently the cable probably from stepping on it for nearly 15 years.
